Owner photographing a vehicle to request a valuation

How it works

Four steps and no grey areas. Here is exactly what happens, what we check and what you sign.

The full journey

  1. 1

    1. Describe your vehicle

The form covers vehicle identification, condition and your expectations. It takes about two minutes. Photos are optional at this stage but strongly recommended.

  2. 2

    2. Receive an initial valuation

Within 24 working hours an advisor sends you a range along with the criteria behind it. You can ask questions before going further.

  3. 3

    3. Have your car inspected

A thirty-minute appointment wherever suits you. The inspector checks the vehicle and the documents and carries out a short road test.

  4. 4

    4. Get paid

If you accept the firm offer, documents are signed on the spot and the transfer is initiated the same day. Deregistration is handled by us.

What the inspector checks

The inspection is not a formality: it is what turns a valuation into a firm offer.

Paperwork by country

In Luxembourg the sale involves a transfer declaration and deregistration of the vehicle with the Société Nationale de Circulation Automobile. The seller must cancel their insurance after the transfer and hand over any additional documents.

In France the sale requires a Cerfa 15776 transfer certificate in duplicate, the online declaration on the ANTS portal within fifteen days, the registration certificate struck through and dated, and a certificate of administrative status less than fifteen days old.

In Belgium the number plate must be returned to the Vehicle Registration Service to end the registration and insurance cover. We set out the steps for your situation and provide evidence of the transfer of ownership.

Questions about the process

Can the offer change between valuation and inspection?

Yes, in both directions. It falls if the actual condition is below what was declared, and it can rise if the car is better equipped or better maintained than stated. Any difference is explained point by point.

Do I need to be present at the inspection?

Yes, or someone authorised in writing. Signing the transfer documents requires the owner or their representative.

What happens if I decline the offer?

Nothing. You keep your car and your documents, nothing is charged, and we delete your data within the periods set out in our privacy policy.

Who cancels the insurance?

The seller, after ownership transfers. We provide the evidence you need to do so immediately.

A question about the process?

An advisor can answer, or start straight away with a valuation.
